WIP Wednesday

Ann yeong! Thank you for sharing how you had spent New Year's Eve with your family. I'm glad we're not the only ones who like to chillax!

Well, today on

...

Sharon, who's expectin' my second godson, and I were finally able to have a mum's brunch - hooray! Our husbands have had quite a few outings already. We, ladies, were long overdue for our first one.

It was decided to go locally near to Ella's since I was missing scrambles (My knitting group's usual venue burned down a few months ago, a place where I had always ordered a scramble or savory crepe.):

Sharon had the open-faced omlette with leeks, sausage, and spinach along with mint tea. I ordered the ham, mushrooms, and jack cheese scramble as well as a hot chocolate. We, dames, shared and took our time chattin' and grubbin'. She and I are similar in which we're both pretty open and verbal about everything and to everyone.

Two hours later while she went to her appt., I got to enjoy my godson:

Ain't he a handsome boy?

This toddler was thoroughly entertained by his godsisters whom he loves dearly. They love to wrestle about:

I haven't been doing much knitting lately because I took a break to read. I finished Alice Hoffman's The Dovekeepers. It was mesmerizing and so interesting!

Then I quickly read a light book - The Perfect Hope, the last of the Inn Boonsboro trilogy. It was an nice and easy ending to the series.

I have yet to finish Sarum, a historical fiction novel of the birth of England. Some parts are very educational and interesting while others are boring. I feel obligated to finish it even though it's damn long. I only got 45% the way through on my Kindle.

I've been slacking as well on reading aloud to my daughters from The Borrowers and now the first book of Artemis Fowl which I've read years ago and laughed at.

Oh and yes! I do have a WIP.
Don't worry, I haven't forgotten:

Mom's Moebius was soaking in Eucalan and is now wet-blocking in front of the heater vent in my bedroom.

I haven't sewn on any buttons yet for Princess Cupcake and Princess Jellybean's cuffs nor have I touched Through the Woods Cocoon yet. So nothing new to show for these two.

  1. Happy new year! It looks like you all had so much fun and yes, that is one handsome little boy.

I too have been reading more than knitting. I think it's because it's cold and dark and an early night with my kindle seems more appealing than sitting up with the light on to knit.

  3. Oh, I love Alice Hoffman, she writes so beautifully, never a word out of place. My favourite so far is The Probable Future.
I love the pictures of the children playing.

  5. Oh I love the photo of the bubbly Eucalan bath, very pretty! Your godson is adorable, it is great that he gets along with your girls (although who couldn't get along with your girls?). Sounds like you are going to have to whip up some baby knits soon!
