Ann yeong haseyo! I'm sitting here typing to Breaking Dawn's Cinematic Tribute on Spotify. Can I tell you how beautiful the music is?
Kamsa hamnida for your sweet concern about us here. I appreciate the support. We got our garage door secured the way it should have been in the first place. The garage company thinks the thief was able to shove the door to the side since the bolt didn't go the necessary inches through the frame and then open it.
Apparently, Tide is considered liquid gold on the black market as a FB friend had commented. There was also this NY Times article about how Tide, an all-American brand is like a status symbol. I also read online how Tide may be traded for drugs and the school secretary informed me how she saw on the news that some people steal Tide to try to sell cups of it at the laundromat.
Officer Machado stopped by our building this past Saturday and told my uncle there was another forced entry through a garage a few houses up. While we don't really care about what was stolen, it's just plain creepy to think of a stranger wandering about our property and touching our things. Our building is constantly making sure things are secure.
I have not forgotten about the giveaways. I need my helpers so today after school we three dames will find out the winners.
How was your weekend?
I was emotionally spent from last Thursday and Friday I had helped chaperoned my daughter's class to the Academy of Sciences which was packed full of visitors:
Cute bunch, yeah? Oh boy did I work; I was exhausted as other mums were too. Can I tell you chaperoning kindergarteners is way different than 3rd graders? My group started eating lunch until one claimed she had to pee real bad! Everything was packed up quick style and we ran off to the potty. Two of this bunch were so enamored by the eye candy everywhere they kept running off when we viewed an exhibit! The lil' one in green was my lasso as she knew exactly where each girl was hiding in the sea of kids. However, watching a Planetarium show with kindergarteners is the best! They were so in awe of what was being shown and their responses were priceless.
So our weekend was low key. Saturday was baby fix day:
My smile's a bit off here because my newest godson was howling his lil' head off from a wet diaper and I was trying to do that calming jiggle slowly while his dad snapped a few pics.
Then later on my brother, sil, and niece came down to visit and ended up staying for pizza. E and I had so much fun carrying Miranda. She was fully awake! I have never seen a baby like to move her little arms so much and her little mouth was so funny. She'd stick out her tongue or smack her lips.
Sunday I had the tellie on while I spent six hours catching up on your blogs. I had gotten behind again as I've been on the computer less this week and taking time to craft on my bed with either Harry Potter on or Food Network. I watched some of the Super Bowl for the commercials and of course watched Beyonce work the stage as Sasha Fierce and shake her money maker in the half time show.
Okie...moving onto
Here's my progress on Mirripple:
I have another section added. My goal is to have a repeat of the five colors done each week. One group of all the colors is about 6" tall so I have a foot so far - yippee!
Before I sign off today, I leave you with these recipes:
#1: Green Smoothie
I combined a few Pins' recipes to make my daily green smoothie:
2 handfuls of organic spinach
1 c of organic, whole milk yogurt
(adding...) 1 cored apple
4 peeled Mandarins
1 banana
5-7 frozen, organic strawberries
some frozen mango
I get about 3.5-5 c of this smoothie. I reserve about 8 oz. for my husband who drinks it every morning. I drink the rest.
This was a great Pin. The portion of each ingredient is realistic and I didn't have to worry about it spilling over in the frozen piecrust. Apparently, even dogs can eat this.
Ann yeong kahseyo!

Holy crap, that blanket has grown!
ReplyDeleteI hope everything is figured out now with the garage and your missing items. It's crazy to think that people steal Tide. It's not *that* expensive! They wouldn't have any fun with us. We use Purex (the cheap Walmart brand)...and no one but a knitter would know what to do with all my yarn :)
I hope we don't have any problems when we move...
Hello lovely lady!
ReplyDeleteThere is so much to comment about in this post! Don't you just love babies? Congratulations on the safe, beautiful arrival of your godson! I feel your exhaustion after chaperoning those delightful children. Like you I am a former teacher and I found it quite intense and tiring spending days out with them; you have to have eyes at the back of your head!
Beautiful blanket colours! Keep up the good work!
Stephanie
ps I love green smoothie. Totally yummy and don't you think that fresh orange juice is one of the most delicious beverages out? My children and I are addicted to it!
ooh I wish I could have a baby fix day. :-) Sorry to hear about your break in, sad that people feel the need to do this. The ripple is looking lovely and those kids are so cute! I remember those kindy excursions. Such fun! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou look so happy holding your new godson. Hope life will feel a bit more settled down soon ... enjoy your knitting and hooking!
ReplyDeleteOkay, you've done it, this post was the last push I needed to go out and buy a blender, that smoothie sounds like the yummiest thing I can imagine! Congrats on the beautiful new grandchild, he is so lucky to get to grow up surrounded by such loving, happy people! The apparent value of Tide really surprises me, as someone said, I don't think it is that expensive, especially if you buy it in bulk.
ReplyDeleteYummy food, cute baby, and lovely knitting. I think your life is perfect :)
ReplyDeleteAnother sweet baby!! Your pie looks delicious! And of course, I always like to see what the princesses are up to. Busy lady, you!
ReplyDeleteWhat kindergarden cuties in that pic! Although I can almost feel your exhaustion. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your garage. Stealing Tide? Status symbol? That's whacky.
Take it easy, and work well on your ripple - it's looking good.
