Aloha. How and what did you do this past weekend?
Mahalo nui loa for your concern about Princess Chocolate Cupcake. I took her to see her pediatrician who told me she needed light foods and to take a TUMS whenever her stomach started bothering her. She also had a glass of Good Belly, probiotic juice every day. All of this helped and the virus went through her system.
So as you can guess, our ohana chillaxed which was seriously needed BTW after the eventful week! I got rear-ended on the way home Thursday. I never thought my head could slam back into the headrest so hard. My poor 8 year old had the same experience. I was so shaken up as that was the first time I had ever gotten hit. I was sitting braked at the red light behind a few cars one minute and then bam! I could barely think straight. All I knew was I had to get the other driver's 411. I did not want to talk to her because I also saw red from the fact that my kids were in the car! Fortunately, the other car was older and lower and only made deep scratches on the left side of my bumper.
Hubbie was practically like the walking dead toward the end of the week as work was killing him this week. My man slept from 5:45 p.m. to 10.5 hours later Friday-Saturday. He felt so much better. We had a marathon of Downton Abbey. Netfilx on Demand only had the first season so he signed up for Hulu Plus so we could watch Season Two. We're up to episode 5. I didn't know the UK version is longer or different from America's?
Happily, I got a lot of crafting done over the three day weekend - hooray! The princesses got haircuts and stocked up at the library. Yesterday was a school holiday which observed Year of the Snake - Gung Hay Fat Choy. I took my daughters to an enclosed playground so I could sit and knit:
I've mentioned my weekly goal for Mirripple - a new section of the five colors - so #3 was hooked:
Since this blanket will grow taller each week, I'll be taking a shot like this:
each week.
Okie. I am off to start dinner. I'm trying this recipe. I was going to fry these chicken tenders but I'm just not in the mood.
Guess what? My poor Prius bumper got tapped on the other side on the same street and in the same lane! My husband thought I was pulling his leg when I had called him at work. Fortunately, we were hit way less harder than five days ago so our heads didn't get knocked. There are no scratches or dents but hubbie will be checking upon that when he gets home.
Sigh. I'll be taking another way home now.
I deserve to buy some yarn don't you think?

goodness stefanie what a week you've had! hopefully next week is better for you! i love your blanket you make me want to start one but me and dahlia have a ton of blankies since she's been born. :] can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteOh how terrible! I'm so glad you're all OK and that there wasn't any major damage to the car either. And twice in a week on the same street? I don't blame you: find a different route!
ReplyDeleteI think you more than deserve to buy some yarn! One of my biggest fears out here is getting hit. I've been in a couple car accidents (prior to Little Man), none of them were fun.
ReplyDeleteSo, you need some yarn therapy. Once we're all moved (eep, we're moving next week!), we'll have to get together and go yarn shopping :)
Awww, car accidents are always horrible! I hope you feel better! Thank God no one was seriously hurt
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, are you and the kids ok? Yes, yarn shopping is in order!!
ReplyDeleteYou deserve a flock of sheep and a safer place to drive! I'm glad no one was hurt. It is so scary to be hit and to have it happen twice!
ReplyDeleteYour blanket is lovely!
Definitely some yarn for you! I've been rear-ended once, by a school bus! Like you I was stopped at a light and POW! The driver of the bus said she had her head turned around and was yelling at the kids and never even saw me or the light!!! And then she went on to say that she had been just telling her husband at breakfast that it was only a matter of time before she hit someone!! When we called the insurance company they said it happened all the time and that school buses were a menace on the road :(
ReplyDeleteIck sounds like a rough few days. Glad you guys got a chance to relax and recuperate after it.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear of you auto accident and hope all is ok. Sounds like half the family has been under the weather, ndarn it.
ReplyDeleteLoving your pretty blanket withe the greens and browns.
Oh Kepani! I am so, so sorry! How scary and maddening. I am hoping there are no residual affects from slamming your head so hard--and that you little princesses are alright. People follow too closely and do not pay attention to what is going on around them. Bad, rude drivers are a pet peeve of mine. It is not my driving I am afraid of, it is everyone else on the roads. I definitely say, get thee to a yarn store. You do deserve it. Your ripple is lovely and coming along nicely...
ReplyDelete*smiles & a hug*
My goodness you have had quite a week. And I thought mine was chaotic. Sending along some positive vibes. Keep safe, keep well lovely! Glad your little one is on the mend. Your ripple looks fab. Big big hugs xoxoxoxox
